Parque del Café

Parque del Café

Happy End of January Loves!

It’s my first blog post of 2020 I have missed writing on this site. I’ve been learning a lot about my Colombian culture, reconnecting with family, and of course the food. It’s an experience after another, a blessing in disguise. I got to celebrate my 24th birthday in Armenia, Colombia about a week ago. It was my last stop in Colombia before I come back to Chicago. I am feeling great, but I am honestly feeling anxious about a lot of things.

Life Update: Life has been unexpected with the turnaround of events that it has tossed at me. I’ve grown into a stronger person throughout this whole journey and until I feel fully comfortable with talking about the real reason I’ve been here. I thank each one of you for reaching out and being caring. It’s not like me to go on a trip unexpectedly but things happen when you least expect them to. It’s been a hard journey and one that has made a MAJOR life impact on me. There is SO MUCH I have to get done back at home which is why I am feeling anxious, but excited for all the projects + events coming up. I never really thought this would be the way I would visit Colombia, but God has the control of things even when they don’t play out the way we would imagine it.

In other news, first time riding a horse, which was an enjoyable experience. Colombia has made an impact on me especially my aunt. She has made this experience more enjoyable and life learning. Life’s about taking risks no matter the outcome. Armenia is the place to go where ALL things and I mean ALL things related to coffee culture are at. Before I leave Colombia I asked my family to take me to the coffee farms in Colombia, as my last stop here.

My family surprised me by taking me to the theme park Parque del Café located in Armenia Quindío, Colombia. The name speaks for itself translation the National Coffee Park in Colombia I love education and learning. So what better way than to not only explore it, but learn how coffee is planted, process, and distributed. In the Parque del Café we explored Teleférico PlazaTren del Café, and much more. Enjoy the pics below!

Love Always,
