Guatape El Peñol

Guatape El Peñol

Hi Loves,

Q Hubo! (That means what’s up in Colombian). It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but I’m glad to be writing again. I’ve missed it. Many of you didn’t know or probably knew of some sort. I have been traveling in Colombia and getting to know the country in which I was born. I’ve been reconnecting with a lot of things in my life lately. Which is why I’ve been off the gram because of everything going on in my personal life. I really wanted to take the time during this trip as a way to really enjoy the moment.

It’s true what they say when it comes to traveling… Travel to go find yourself. This trip specifically has been an experience and a rollercoaster of emotions.

It has always been on my bucket list to visit El Peñol which is the biggest rock in Colombia to see the amazing whole view of Guatapé. But.. omg to climb 740 steps is no joke.. it also showed me how I need to get back into shape… sorry, Nike! LOL. This is the perfect weekend getaway from Medellín.

Climbing for the view… El Peñol

After climbing 740 steps to see the beautiful view it was so worth it and it can definitely be checked off my bucket list. Guatapé is a two-hour drive from Medellín.

Explore the lake by taking a boat.

Personally, I have anxiety when it comes to taking a boat in water. So, this was more out of my comfort zone and I am glad that I have been able to step out of my comfort zone lately. By exploring the lake I was able to get a whole new perspective on myself and many things I find myself facing. I feel like I am truly finding myself.

And lastly a walk amongst the Plazoleta de Los Zócalos.

It’s such a colorful town it reminded me of Cartagena, but it’s totally worth the walk when the sun starts to go down. Each building and business has a story to tell. Art is definitely the way to tell a story through this Plaza.

I will be updating the blog this week with a few more blog posts to come and I cannot wait to share a few more blog posts + videos to come. + A few announcements that I am excited to share!

Love Always,
Yessi Bause
